So you are considering the purchase of a Red Dot Scope. Well then, you are making a wise decision because the use of a red dot scope will increase your accuracy to no end. I remember the first red dot scope I ever got was for my Bow. I was an okay shooter and could hit an eight inch target 75% of the time out to a distance of about 25 yards or so. Once I installed and sighted in my new red dot scope I was able to drop down to a six inch plate and I nailed it 95% of the time. I only missed because of an unsteady arm or some other human error issue. I do have to admit that I have some of those. I was hooked on these types of scopes.

Basically what a red dot scope does is produce a single red dot that points at the target you are aiming at. Once the scope is sighted in that red dot (occasionally green for day light shooting) becomes your cross hairs and if you don’t jerk or your target move at the wrong time it is deadly. While you can get a magnified red dot scope the unmagnified tends to work better and are more powerful.

The base price for a good scope can range in the hundreds to even thousands of dollars. While usually a higher priced scope will be of better quality and last longer and take a better beating from you it may not make you a better marksman.

Even though you can find more information on many different styles and makes of red dot scopes on our pages I see the BSA Red Dot Scope as a great tool for the price. Remember to always choose your new sight on what features you will use most and then choose those options that are secondary to your needs. In other words fulfill your basic need first and then move to your desired bells and whistles.
